I'm going in to South Nassau at 4pm to start cervidil!!!!
Has the cervidil alone jump started anyone's labor enough that they didn't need pitocin?
Also, should I eat before I go in or will they allow me to eat while the cervidil is in?

No u can't eat once u get there so eat right before because it can take a long time!!
I needed the pitocin because they did 2 rounds of cervadil and still nothing was happening. Good luck!

I did not need pitocin but had the cervadil inserted. The cervadil alone jump started my contractions. I will say however my water broker prior to getting the cervadil so I'm not sure if this made any difference. Good luck!!

I ate a quick sandwich before I left just in case. After I was admitted and got a room, they had me eat dinner and then about an hour after that, they put the cervidil in. I got cervidil for 12 hours, pitocin, then cervidil for another 12 hours, then pitocin again.
ETA: I was able to eat in between getting the cervidil taken out and getting pitocin and then again between stopping the pitocin and before round 2 of cervidil. That wasn't so bad. But after round 2 of cervidil, I didn't eat for well over 24 hours. I was able to eat ice chips and a small cup of Apple juice bc my blood sugar was too low.

I only did pitocin, but didn't get to eat- that was the WORST part of labor for me. I was so hungry!!!!! Good luck!

Same but I was also so thirsty and no one would let me drink! I was so mad after I had the baby lol.
