Inexpensive 1st Birthday Party options not at home????
DS's birthday is 12/11. We are renting right now so we have no room to have a party at home. I really want to do something but without breaking the bank.
Can you ladies share what you have done & how you ended up spending???
TIA!
ETA: Kids ages would be 1 - 12

Chuck E Cheese?
I was going to suggest a park but that's in December so not an option.

What are the age ranges of the kids?
Little Sunshine Playcenter and the Original Mommy and Me would be great for a 1st bday. Both are inexpensive.
If you are looking more for a restaurant type place, you could do J&R's Steakhouse. They have a few locations and their luncheon is $13.99 for 4 hours in the private party room, includes choice of 3 entrees, salad, rolls, coffee and tea. Also a cake. http://www.jandrssteakhouse.com/services3.asp?service=Luncheon I had my sister's bridal shower there and it was great.

If you are looking for a restaurant, you could do a chinese buffet luncheon ...
For more of a child oriented party, a VFW hall and do your own cooking, and good old fashioned party games

DS will be 3 in Jan. and I already told DH that we're gonna look into Mcds (they have the play place too) or Little Sunshine! DS has had 2 house parties and I think now that he's gonna be 3, it's time to "go out" somewhere. Although, house parties are fun too.

these were going to be my suggestions too...I know a few people who had chinese buffet parties that turned out very nice and extremely reasonable.
