Re: Infant Car Seat Body Support
According to the fireman who is a certified car seat inspector and helped us install our seat, NONE of the infant support systems that have padding UNDER the child are safety tested with the car seats. He says to roll up a towel or blanket for around the baby's head.
Anything under the child can cause a slip during the accident and render the seat ineffective. SCARY!!!

I agree, none of these are supposed to be very safe. The head rest insert that came with our Graco carseat was enough to keep the baby's head still.

Re: Infant Car Seat Body Support
Nope the head rest support that comes with my infant seat is extremely padded.

Re: Infant Car Seat Body Support
No, you do not. If the baby needs extra support the first few days, place a rolled up receiving blanket on each side of them, but after you do up the harness. NOTHING additional should go between the baby and the seat/harness. You can do it like this:
Or, you can also position a rolled receiving blanket intu a "U" shape and place it around baby's head like a head support.

Re: Infant Car Seat Body Support
nope, only use what comes with the carseat. snuzzlers are great for other things, like bouncy chairs with minimal support, etc. also, don't put a mat under your carseat to protect the car's seat.

Re: Infant Car Seat Body Support
Tarabelle is correct. Most parents find that babies do not need extra support, but if you must, the rolled up receiving blanket is the best choice.
