infant car seat not in the middle???

Does anyone have their carseat not in the middle...we have an Audi wagon and my hubby is very tall....he can not put the seat back witht he car seat in the middle....can u put it on the side....it is a 2005 car i think....

ours is not in the middle. we had it in the middle, but when we went to get it inspected, they moved it to behind the passenger side seat.

Oh, I was just going to ask the same question for for different reasons. I have an SUV that is really high up and to climb in with the carrier then place the carrier in is not easy, especially for a short person. I have neck problems and today I think I aggravated it (on my first outing alone with DS).

I know that my SIL and BIL actually replaced their car because of the problem you are talking about.

When we had the carseat inspected, the cop stressed the importance of putting it in the middle. However, when I asked my ped. she reminded me that if we had 2 kids, we would have one seat on either side. She said that if we put it on the side, use the driver's side---wait, maybe she said passenger side? Whichever, I think I will ask DH if we can try moving it to the side so I don't keep injuring myself and getting frustrated!

I have an SUV and put the car seat behind the drivers seat. Never really thought about if that was wrong or not (in terms of putting behind driver or passenger) but most of the time DH drives so I like to be able to see DD from the passenger seat.

Well, we obviously had no choice from day 1.

We have a Camry and have two Marathons on either side.

I'm delaying the mini-van purchase as long as humanly possibly.

Mine's behind the driver's side. It wouldn't work in the middle.. I have a VW Touareg

mine is on the passengers side we did it as we have that mirror on the head rest so i can see him

i never even thought about doing the middle

We have two seats now, so obviously they are on either side..... For the vast majority of cars, the middle is the safest, followed by the passenger side.

The passenger side is preferred, so that if you are getting DC out of the car on the side of the road, you are away from traffic. If the seat is on the passenger side, and you are getting DC out, the door, you, and DC are all right in the middle of traffic.....

I realize that in Suffolk, most people don't parallel park, just park in parking lots, but if you go to the city, or even many places in Nassau or Queens. If you go to a friend's house for a party, and not everyone can fit in the driveway, etc, etc....

The middle is the safest but I am too short. I can't carry an infant carseat with the baby in it and lift it to put it in the base in the middle. Talk about destroying my back!!! DS' carseat in the passenger side.

Minivan mom here, so my daughters infant seat is on the passenger side and my 2 boys are in the last row.

I have a Malibu and the seat can go in the middle...my boyfriend has an Infiniti and it can ONLY go on the sides...that's where the latches are also.

ours is behind the passenger side seat. it had to be that way which is what the inspector told me.

We have a CRV, and ours is on the passenger side back seat also. The book with the car recommended placing it there. The only thing I've heard you should do is disable airbags if you have them in the back.
