Info on Goat's milk
i I just wanted to share.... My DS started on breast milk and it worked for about 2 months and then my pump broke I got a cold and that was it with my milk.... I was suplementing with Ar formula from birth because of my supply and he had refulx... Fastforward to DD who is now 7 months old (my kids are 15months apart) I have only pumped breast milk for and my supply was ok up until month 4 the ped said to supplement with formula well that did not work i tried everything literally... so the ped said just a tiny tiny bit mixed in... she would get used to it... she became so upset when she saw any bottle she freaked and stopped eating all together for 2 days... i switched ped and my new ped told me about goat milk.... she said basically before similac enfamil there was 1 thing the goat... so i went online and read about how many moms actually use goats milk.... i bought meyenberg powdered goats milk mix 1 and 1/2 scoops with 6 ounces of water and 1 large taplespoon organic rice syrup... i mix 3 ounces of breast milk with 2 ounces of goat and it is a hit.... before it was .25 goats milk and the rest breast milk until i got to 2 i sure wish i would have known about this before almost a month of torture with formula i dont have anything against formula i gave it to my son for almost a year but he liked it but my dd hated it so i am happy to have found a substiute for formula

Re: Info on Goat's milk
My mom kept telling me to get goats milk when DS was born & not taking well to any formula. He finally adjusted to Similac Alimentum.
She spoke to her cousin who lives in Italy and she told her that it is VERY common for mothers to use goats milk over there these days.

I only give DS goat milk. It is much easier to digest than cows milk. I grew up on it too!

My son is dairy allergic and eats goat milk cheeses with no issues.

Funny you mention this, I just saw a program the other day about how a jenny's (female donkey) milk is the closest thing to mother's breast milk. It's has less fat than cow's milk and a much higher lactose content. The milk is expensive because jennies only produce about 1/4 liter per day. The show took place in Italy. I was rather fascinated by it!

What kind of milk do you give your DS? My DS has a dairy allery too, and we are still on a combination of formula and soy milk. But i am a little concerned with all this soy milk talk lately.
