Does anyone know if there is a minimum to start it up? Is there a minimum I need to keep in the account to keep it open?

I've never had to carry a minimum balance for my savings account with them.
I think I only opened with $100, but it was a long time ago and I can't remember the requirement.
Did you try their website? I think they have an FAQ section.

you can open the acct with just $1 and there is no minimun. We have had as little as $10 the acct without any problem
