injectables vs clomid

So Dh and I are at the next step after had surgery. MY RE gave us the options of IUI with clomid or injectables. RE was leaning towards injectables since it has a success rate, but he mentioned I shoudl be willing to selectively reduce if I have higher order multiple.
After almost 2 years of trying I not prepare to think of reducing.

I want to start injectables but I'm scared of hi order of multiples......
ie Jon and Kate....

What do you guys think?

Last mont I did a round of injectables with IUI after 2 failed cycles with Clomid. My RE told me that the chance of multiples with injectables is about 20-25%. In fact, most cases of high order multiples are from injectables with IUI. I am scared to death of multiples but I am open to the idea of selective reduction if necessary. I think you should try clomid first. With our first pregnancy the clomid and insemination worked perfectly and we got pregnant with our son.

The second time we tried to get pregnant, we tried clomid 3x and it didn't work. I tried injectibles and I got pregnant with twins..however, I had 6 eggs available and I was very lucky only two fertilized. I look at my twin boys now and I think that if I had gotten pregnant with more would I have reduced one of them...and that makes me sad.

I don't think you should put yourself in that situation..had I thought about it more at that time I would not have done the insemination.

Have you tried clomid in the past? I would try that first. Why subject yourself to needles and the higher chance of multiples if you can have success with clomid?

I would do the clomid first then move on if you do not respond. But my sis has twins from clomid alone. There is a possibility of that happening. I know this process is so scary. We want this so badly but when we are doing this stuff it messes with our head!!

I think We're doing clomid next cycle.... it's when they tell you one is more successful it's so tempting........
