Re: Input on naming options for baby #2-- looking for opinions about an issue
Ultimately, your child is an individual, so I don't think you all have to have similar initials. If you are really leaning towards a "c" name--go for it, but if you like something else, i don't think it's a big deal to go with a different initial.

Re: Input on naming options for baby #2-- looking for opinions about an issue
This is soo funny, DH and I are M and because DS was named after DH he is too.
If we had another boy he would of been another M, because that was always the name I wanted for a little boy. Now that we are having a girl it had to be an M incase we have another and that one is a boy. Does this make sense? I'm crazy I know lol.
It just so happened it worked out that I really fell in love with a girls name that started with an M. But honestly I don't think it would matter if you didn't name your next a C, especially if you love another name.

I could go either way...I do think it would be cute since your all C's, but if their is a name you and your DH love that doesnt start with a C, then I would go for it sorry I am no real help LOL

I think it would be cute to stick with a C name, but if there were none that I liked I wouldn't just settle. I'd move on to another letter.
ITA! I think it would be really cute...if you could just happen to find a C name you love. Vince Vaughn's family is all VV's...mom, dad and all siblings...I think it's so cute. I also know some family's who have done this same thing...parents are Karen and Ken. Their children are Kenny, Kevin and Katie....I think it's really cute/nice if you can find a C name you LOVE!
You are having another right? How about: Casey Cece Celia Caroline Carolyn Chelsea Chloe
If I think of more I'll share.... can you tell I think the C thing would be REALLY adorable! haha : )

I think I would lean toward a C name, but it would have to be something I really liked. I woudln't just settle on a C name because I felt I had to name DC with a C.

Here's my family:
Vita (mom) Vinny (dad) Valerie (me) and....
John (brother)
He's cool about it.
I say go with a name you love, regardless of the first letter.
It's a name you'll be saying (and possibly SCREAMING) for the rest of your life.

I think because you and your DH have C names and then DD#1 happened to get a C name, I'd TRY to find another C so that your next DC didn't feel left out. But I'm always concerned about that.

I probably would, too, but if I fell in love with a different name I would use it. Although, I would probably constantly think about it not starting with a C.

Re: Input on naming options for baby #2-- looking for opinions about an issue
I would probably stick with a C name also... I'm wondering, do they all SOUND the same? or just start with the letter C?
For us, im Marie, DH is Ronnie... we have two DDs and the names we just happened to LOVE were DD1 Sydney and DD2 Savannah... now if we have a third, if its a girl, we would definitely do another S, but now its hard cause I had one person say that they are cities too, lmao, this could get out of control... Syracuse? I kid I kid.. if it were a boy I would probably NOT use an S cause I cant think of any I love and we've always leaned towards Hunter.

Re: Input on naming options for baby #2-- looking for opinions about an issue
I would TRY to stick to a C. I think it's cute that all of you have the same initial.
But if you don't find a name you like starting with C then I would pick any name you like.
We have something similar with my family, siblings and cousins. All the girls have name ending in "ie" and we are all born on the 12th or 29th only (including my aunt and uncle). Then my little brother came along. His name does not match neither his birthday. But I loved it when I was a kid.

Personally, I like the name Christine.
I don't think it would be weird at all if you picked a name that didn't start with a C.
I would go with what you like whatever letter it begins with!

Re: Input on naming options for baby #2-- looking for opinions about an issue
Honestly, I would go with a "C" name, especially if you love one. I would not want to be the child that didn't match the rest of the family. With boys, I don't think they would care as much.
I love Casey, Cassandra, Caroline.

Re: Input on naming options for baby #2-- looking for opinions about an issue
I'd probably go with a C name. I love that. I don't why. When I had DD, her name HAD to end in an "N" to go with Bryan! I LOVE that I have Bryan & Carolynn. I think it goes so nicely together. I know a couple other families that the kids have same initial names. I love it!
ETA: If DD was going to be a we had Christian picked out.

I wouldn't have to have a C name but I'd try to focus on them because I think it would be cool if you all had C names
I think I agree but don't know if I was actually in the situation I would agree

Re: Input on naming options for baby #2-- looking for opinions about an issue
I'm not into having all the same initials, but I think in your case I would be looking for a "C" name. My step-son's name begins with "N" his mom is an "S" and wanted to name all her children with "S", DH didn't agree and they gave SS an "N" name.
Fast Forward 10 years, SSs mother is married and had two more children they each have an "S" SS has said to me a few times that he wished he had an "S" name like his siblings. In our house there is no consistent initial so I try to explain to him that we are all individuals and special... but still he wants an "S" name.

both my husband and my son begin with L, making me the odd man out.
I don't mind.
unless another C name was my first choice...like I HAD to have a Catherine...I wouldn't make it matchy matchy
and aliteration is my favorite writing tool
