insect repelant NEED HELP QUICK!!!!

I'm going to a BBQ in 2 hours and it's at a house that is very buggy. Bella has to come with us (no sitters and there will be kids there). Can I use inscect repelant on her (not on her hands and face)? Do I get DEET free? Do I need it with DEET? I have read so many conflicting articles about this and figured you ladies are the best resource!

TIA!

Please hurry with your responses!

Re: insect repelant NEED HELP QUICK!!!!

I had the same situation on the 4th of Jluy. I wasn't sure and too have read so many conflicting articles so I opted not to put anything on her. I just dressed her lightly and wrapped a ight blanket around her. Hope this helps.

Lora I read that it's safe to use Deet on a baby that is older than 2 mos. Just spray it on your hands and apply rather than spraying on her. I have read this at least twice, but call your Dr or try calling the helpline through your health insurance-they have nurses on these.

Re: insect repelant NEED HELP QUICK!!!!

I always call the pharmacy when I have questions about things like that. The best part is, they have no idea who I am, so I don't feel so ridiculous. However, once I called 3 times in the same day, and felt the need to speak with a fake accent the third time................

Anyway, you can try CVS, etc....

This is what I use, if I am stuck and cannot get the DEET free which is sometimes hard to find, I'll get the Cutter Family which has I think 7% DEET, a very small amount.

BBB has Natrapel, I found another DEET free (forget the name but was made in Southhampton?) in the Organics section of my supermarket.

Also Skin so Soft is an option....
