Installing laminate flooring yourself
If you installed laminate flooring yourself, can you tell me how hard/easy it is?
DH is not really handy and I am OK with DYI. BUT I am over 6 months PG so my question is.
Can I do it myself?
The room is rectangular with a recess for a closest space (no door or track) and it's on a slab.

Re: Installing laminate flooring yourself
My DH did it and is not handy. It was his first actual home improvement project that was more than painting. I wouldn't suggest doing it if you are preggo. It's a lot of time bending over and on your knees. MY DH wore knee pads and complained about his back hurting.
Your slab really needs to be perfectly level or previously laid boards will pop up in spots when you start to put in subsequent boards. We had this in a couple of places, in the large walk in closet, but as it's a basement we just filled in the gaps with some wood filler and painted them with a staining pen. If it was the main floor we would have been more paticular.
He bought a video at HD that showed the technique, watched it and rewatched it if he got stuck.
Here's the floor before and after.
We got our flooring from Costco, by far the cheapest price. Image Attachment(s):
