insurance and breast pump - medical supply places
I have Cigna. IIRC, the pump I can get depends on the medical supplier I go through and when I call CIGNA they will assign me a place? But, I think I also could ask for a different supplier. This is all so fuzzy from last time. Anyway, If you went through a medical supply company, which one did you use, would you recomend it?
ETA- I just found they assigned me to Sterling Medical last time (2 years ago), which doesn't have Spectra. I'm thinking of starting with edgepark or aeroflow and letting them contact insurance for me...

I used Edgepark and they were awesome! My pump was delivered two days after the order was placed!

I have cigna and with my plan there was only one supplier I was allowed to order through. I ended up with the medela.

Yeah, I'm afraid calling cigna first won't get me what I want. I remember last time, carecentrix looked up a provider from a list, maybe based on location, but it was fine because they had the pump I wanted. I just called one of the suppliers that said they work with insurance for you and they're supposed to call me back within a week...hopefully it works out. I want to try the spectra.

Ah I wish I knew that they would work with the insurance. I wanted the spectra but carecentrix didn't offer it. Oh well.

I went through Byram Healthcare at the recommendation of my insurance company. I think you can enter your insurance info on the site and it will let you know what/if you're covered for.

I ordered my pump today through Aeroflow. They told me they are in-network and offered me 9 different pumps at no cost and some upgrade options. I decided to upgrade to the Spectra S1 for $95. The Spectra S2 would be no cost. The upgrade price is crazy to me considering the S1 only costs $199 on spectrababyusa.com, but it's still a pump at half price. I decided to get the S1 because I'm sure I'll want to get up while pumping to take care of my other kids. I tried calling Cigna to see if my plan allowed me to buy a pump and get reimbursed. The agent claimed that I couldn't and the only in-network option was a Medela pump from Carecentrix. It was after business hours, so she couldn't confirm that with Carecentrix, but I definitely had some choices 2 years ago when going through Carecentrix.
