nope
no insurance for IF drugs or IVF 
It was a slow year (only 1 IVF) and we still spent $30K on med expenses

I'm sorry...and insurance companies do suck...the only reason we are evan doing IVF is cuz DH got a state job and now our insurance covers most of it.

They do...sort of. It's either unlimited IUI's or IVF, they are not required to do both. My old insurance only covered IUI's, but our new policy covers IVF.

Our old insurance company didnt cover anything.
With Don's new insurance we get a $4,000 flex spending account per year , but it basically comes down to drugs for only one cycle.

our insurance company will pay for IVF including drugs b/c of state mandate (I live in MD). However - they require at least 3 rounds of injectibles with IUI first which they do not cover. They wanted to charge us $1800 for a round of Bravelle and when I went to another pharmacy place it turned out to be $800! 
Insurance companies suck.

I am confused. I believe that I am not covered for either. I have ONLY coverage for diagnostic testing.

Call your insurance company and find out EXACTLY what they cover and if you need pre-approval codes. You would be surprised at what you can learn by calling them. There's a lot of things available that aren't in their "books".

Here I am again, I know it sounds like I harp, but its not your insurance company that suckss , its your job. No offense 
The insurance comapnies dont decide what your covered for. Your employer decided what they want to pay for, and how much coverage to give you.
For example. I WORK for Empire BlueCross BlueShield and I had no IVF coverage, but a lot of people with that insurance do. It was the company that didnt offer it.
So, Head to HR and ask them to include the coverage!
You cannot go through IF without 100% understanding your insurance.

only large comapnies fall under the mandate. Many companies are exempt. Unions , schools...MANY many others.

Yes, I think its companies over that have more than 30 employees...and many companies have HQ's in other states so do not have to abide by the NYS mandate

Also, all the mandate is is the insurance company has to have some kind of coverage, there is no minimum required. So they may just pay partial for visits and testing and no meds or just meds, etc. etc.
The mandate doesn't require the insurance companies to totally cover anything.
