Insurance covered breast reductions
Has anyone had or know someone who had one?
How do you go about it?

Re: Insurance covered breast reductions
Yep I did.
I had my chiropractor, gynecologist and regular doc write letters and submit notes from years of back pain and discomfort.
100% paid for. Later, I had some scar tissue removed and it was 100% covered as well.

I did - 80% - over 10 yrs ago, but I definitely needed it, so I think the insurance company couldnt say no.
They had to take pics of me topless to send to the insurance company... imagine doing that when your 20 years old

i did too... i went to my regular doc... told her that i was thinking about it... she started to document a history for me... prescribed me medications... then after a few visits gave me a referal to the plastic surgeon... he documented as well... took photos.. noticing the grooves in my shoulders from the bra straps... they took care of the rest... insurance covered 100%

Re: Insurance covered breast reductions
meeee
they covered it all. It took a letter from a chiropractor, my surgeon, and my gyno...and some embarassing naked hangy photos.
I paid 1 $40 copayment for the surgeon's consult, and $5 for vicodin....everything else was covered.
I had Oxford at the time.

Re: Insurance covered breast reductions
go to your regular doc first, then your gyn. Are you having any back pain or issues?

Re: Insurance covered breast reductions
yea its not "severe" yet but i have been noticing my shoulders/neck/and upper back are usually very sore.
when i mentioned it to my mom and aunt last week they said its probably because of my chest.

it wouldn't hurt making an appt with an orthopedist or chiropractor. The more docs that agree that you should get it done, the better your chances of getting in covered.
