Interesting discovery about having twins............
A friend just found out that she is PG with baby # 2. She is 38 and had been trying for a bit.
Her most recent ultrasound was a shocker - it's twins!!! We are not sure if they are fraternal or identical? Twins do not run in her family. Twins also do not run in her husbands family (not like that matters since the mom decides).
Apparently older women (around 38-40) are more prone to have twins; African American women are more prone to have twins; and second time moms are more prone to have twins.
She hit the pregnancy trifecta

How exciting for her!!!! My mom is a twina and my hubby is a twin. I would love to have them. I know that hubby being a twin has nothing to do with it but... It still would be cool. We do have them in the family on both sides besides my mom and DH. So you never know.
Also, My mom and DH were thier parents first kids. MIL used some kind of fertilty drugs (don't know what was around 32 years ago) but they had twins all over thier family anyway.

Genetically speaking, twins are most likely in African people and least likely in Asians. So she is a lucky lady!!

SIL has twins too  She is PG now and they say it's only 1 this time. Another good friend had twins last year but fratenal twins are all over her family so it was not a shock.
