Interesting home estimator web site
I don't know how accurate it is, but it's interesting... both our houses were valued pretty nicely

I saw that article in Newsday earlier this week. Its weird, does any one else get that their property have 2 matching units?? Strange. Pretty accurate though, same as what's on the Nassau Property Assessment page.

I put in my address but its not my house, they show a house about 2-3 blocks south of me.

it kinda made me mad that the price i paid for my house was listed.... and then to see what there estimate was and it was lower then what i paid.. i was not happy at all...

Our estimate was $120,000 more than we paid for it a year ago - and we've done alot of improvements and our other investment home is $200,000 more than we paid for it about 3 years ago!

Nope, it says that there isn't enough county info to do one. Weird, because my house shows up on the Nassau County Assessment site.

Great site except the values of the houses arent updated.
The prices they say on any given home are about 2k less then what they would be.
It says a home by friend bought 10 years ago is only worth 4k but its really worth close to 7 now.

There is no way this site is accurate...the house across the street from me is a dump and they have it listed 30K more than my house.

I'm sure it's not all that accurate... it's based on recent home sales in the area, so the condition of the house is another story

I'd say its very low, about 50K-100K low for some areas...i.e. Bayport where my parents live, the prices they have there are way low. My area was more accurate, Holbrook, but still low for today's home sales

In the Newsday article they said it wasn't totally accurate. Some houses came in higher than actual value and some lower. A lot more came in lower, there was an example of a home on the water that they showed as $500K and Newsday said it was valued at about $750K.

it's still in beta form, some areas are more accurate than others. my area is totally out of whack, but they did list the accurate purchase price we paid last year...
