Interim Estimates of Vaccine Effectiveness of BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273 COVID-19 in Preventing SARS-CoV-2 Infection

Since a lot of people on the other thread were posting that the vaccine may not prevent people from being asymptomatic spreaders, here is the most up to date information from the CDC:

Interim Estimates of Vaccine Effectiveness of BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273 COVID-19 in Preventing SARS-CoV-2 Infection

"Prospective cohorts of 3,950 health care personnel, first responders, and other essential and frontline workers completed weekly SARS-CoV-2 testing for 13 consecutive weeks. Under real-world conditions, mRNA vaccine effectiveness of full immunization (=14 days after second dose) was 90% against SARS-CoV-2 infections regardless of symptom status; vaccine effectiveness of partial immunization (=14 days after first dose but before second dose) was 80%."

Many people are saying that because the scientists and researchers are saying it. Hence why they keep saying to wear Masks, this is coming from Dr. Fauci himself. We are just repeating what they are saying since they are still researching the effects of the vaccine.

Are we not suppose to cite those facts from scientists and researchers?

And the reason I said it in the other post is because it was about getting the virus while wearing a masks. I am trying to stress the fact that this is a virus and you can still get it even if you wear mask. Does it help, yes, but at the end of the day this is a virus. And the ignorance that people have around this fact is astounding.

I agree with everything you are saying.

I felt like some people were using the information that the vaccine might not prevent asymptomatic Covid as a reason for not getting the vaccine so I just wanted to post updated information regarding that.

I am vaccinated and wear a mask everywhere I go when around others - even outside.
