Interior Designer- - what can I have them do?
So, I am design-impaired. I am thinking about hiring an interior designer to give me some ideas for my living room/family room....I probably would want to do the shopping myself but maybe get a layout of furniture, some ideas on accents etc.
Have you had a designer just do a basic workup? Give you idea on the style/type of furniture that woudl work best and where to buy it? If so, how much did the consultation cost? Any recommendations?

sorry im not help but i want to get one just to help me with window treatment. I HATE curtain shopping and have a whole house to do when we move in. I would love info on this if you get it

if you need someone to give you layout ideas, you may just only need a decorator (which i believe is cheaper than an interior designer).
