Internship without a job?
So I am in the middle of applying to the college of st rose cohort - but I need to have an internship committment from a school.
I still technically don't have a job - where am I suppose to get an internship from?
I was hoping it was like student teaching where they would place you - guess that isn't the case.

WHat is the degree in?
As a counselor a lot of students call our school to do internships.
We interview them and each term we have one or sometimes 2,3 depending on how man hours they need.
I would suggest doing this

I think you could just go to any school and ask if they are interested in having an intern.
I am in an SBL program too!

I would go to the district offices of the district in which I live. I think they'd be hardpressed to deny a tax payer!

I was placed for my undergrad student teaching but both my masters had internships and I had to find it on my own.
#1 - counseling - I was lucky to be working in a school with 11 periods and I was able to do my internship and full teaching load.
#2 - library - I did not work (DS#1 was just born) and I went to a local school (not my home district) where I knew the person and had done observation hours. A few of my classmates were working full loads and did their internships with private schools who are in session during winter and spring breaks.

you can go and ask any district if they would like/need an intern. I'm sure they aren't going to refuse the unpaid assistance that you are going to be as an intern. Good luck!!!!

I have 4 years of teaching experience. This program you need 3.
