Interventions
Do you know someone who needs one?
My DH tells me about a friend/co-worker who seriously needs one and i think it is soooooo sad that really nobody does anything.

i have never been to one or anything but I know people who could use one....but the thing is, sometimes they are so far gone - they will only be helped when they choose to change their lives for good.

yea i know this but IMO it is always good to try...
it is the last step before hitting rock bottom and is worth a shot.
But i just feel that if my DH and his friends really cared about this guy....something ANYTHING should be tried

I think they all think it is not their place to do anything about it...
And IMO if you are really friends or care about someone....well it isyour place
This person's wife even makes excuses for the guy....so my DH feels, if she isn't doing anything, why should i

I do and I tell him what I think whenever the chance presents itself. His friends aren't very qualified to do an intervention since they seem to be all in this together..
Oddly enough the person I think needs the intervention was involved in another friend's intervention where they all sat down & talked to their friend until they were blue in the face. The guy stopped for awhile but is now back.

Me too, my ex desperately needed one. His parents and I tried but nothing worked. Thankfully, he is clean now but it took along time and he had to loose pretty much everything before he got help.

that the idea of losing everything or seriously hurting someone else isn't enough...

My fam and I have desperately tried to intervene with my cousin, who has refused rehab since turning 18. So sad, you are limited in what you can do.
