Interview dilemma
I just got a call to go on an interview for a school psych. position on Tuesday at 1:45 for the N. Bellmore school district... after I made the appt. I realized I have USOpen tennis tickets that I spent alot of money on for that day starting at 11am.
Do you think its bad if I call back and ask for a different day? What if they don't have another day available - do I go to the open for a while, go to the interview, and go back? I don't even know if they would let me back in or if all exits are final and I paid $70 for the tixs.
I am currently working for the NYC board of ed but would love to get into LI...
What would you do?

Re: Interview dilemma
When they called did they give you a choice of days or times for the interview? If so then you could probably call back. If they just told you a specific time and day then they are probably just doing back to back interviews and I wouldn't take the chance. You don't want them to form a negative opinion before you even get in the door.

I have a feeling its the only day they are doing interviews...I feel stupid calling back when I should have just said it immediately...I'm so mad at myself!

Re: Interview dilemma
I dont think I would skip the interview for US open tix... You could probably sell the tickets on craiglist and get your money back. Maybe you could even look to see if someone wants to trade days with you?

Re: Interview dilemma
I would go to the interview based on what I hear, the LI interviews/ positions are hard to come by! Good luck!!

Re: Interview dilemma
I don't think it's a big deal to call back but if they say they don't have any other time - that would be it. There is no way that I'd skip a LI interview. Especially for something like school psych, which as you know, is few and far between. Good luck!

i agree.
i would NOT even call and ask. you don't want to give the impression that the interview isn't that important to you. I'd sell the tickets on ebay or craigslist. jmo
