Interview....do you wear a suit?
I thought it was always a sure yes.....BUT Today I was early for my interview and a girl before me was wearing plants and a sweater top. I know it was just for subbing, but it's a foot in the door, wouldn't you want to look your best?
I am a Phys Ed teacher, but I know better than to go in my sweats...I just wanted to see what others thought and do?

Re: Interview....do you wear a suit?
definitely a suit!! the market is tough - and you don't want to be dismissed simply because you unknowingly annoyed someone by dressing down.

Re: Interview....do you wear a suit?
definitely a suit - A CONSERVATIVE ONE. Also make sure your nails are neat (no chipped polish), no tattoos showing, and that you are wearing stockings (sounds crazy but I know my district definitely notices stuff like this)

Really....I better work on my nails they have been having a hard time picking up equipment during the student teaching! They never have chipped polish....because it's always clear

Re: Interview....do you wear a suit?
I always wear a suit, or if it's 1,000 degrees out, maybe a summer dress (one with sleeves though).
I think you are better off being a bit overdressed than under. I've sat on interview panels, and while the lack of a suit or appropriate attire isn't enough for someone to not get a job by itself, if all is absolutely equal between two candidates, I would choose the one who dressed better that day. It sounds shallow, but it shows that person gave a damn.
However, do not wear a suit with a tummy-bearing top. Actually saw that once. The woman did not get the job.
