Introducing a fruit for first time ??
When you first introduce a fruit to your child do you mix it with cereal, or are you supposed to give alone until you know no reaction?

Re: Introducing a fruit for first time ??
We started apple sauce last night. I mixed it with cereal. She hated it and gagged and shivered. It was quite funny. I'll keep trying, though. I think she just isn't used to the sweetness.

I think I would put a little rice on the spoon, then a little apple sauce. GL!

Re: Introducing a fruit for first time ??
i do both. I have mixed it with the cereal and then had some on the side to see how he liked it by itself. Edited: i don't think it matters, reaction wise, if you mix or not. Since you have given the cereal by itself you already know there is no reaction to it. So if you mixed it with fruit you know it is the fruit.
