iphone battery life

I have an iPhone 8 and I'm wondering if charging the battery all the time kills the life of the battery over time. I've had it about 18 months and I'm just about to pay it off, but I play games (Pokemon Go and Harry Potter Wizards) that drain the battery when I'm actively playing. So I've been charging it while I'm at my desk, but I've noticed that it's taking a little longer to charge to 100% than it used to.

I hope I'm not about to pay it off - just to have to buy another b/c the battery isn't as good.

You can always get a new battery. I got a new battery for my iPhone 6 when they had specials for 29$ at the end of last year. It works as good as new now. It’s almost 5 years old. Definitely see if you can do this.

Ah - good idea. I'd rather do that since the rest of the phone has been working perfectly fine. At least I won't need another battery for a while - still seems fine - I just didn't know if I was "damaging" it over time.

My husband did the $29. It is no longer available and was only for certain models due to updates. Not sure of battery prices but once he changed his he has had no problems.

I think it is now 99, not entirely sure. It’s still cheaper than a new iPhone!

It might even be your charging cable. I notice one that I had plugged in at home all the time started working MUCH slower. I used a different cable and it was fast again.

And to add to that, are you charging off your computer tower or a cube plugged into the wall?

Re: iphone battery life

Get a 12W iPad charger. Will charge faster with that.
