iPhone users, pls come in...
My husband wants to move us both to AT&T and get us both iPhones. We're currently on Verizon with plain old flip phones.
I am a recovering crackberry user, and I have heard that some people that are bb users hate the iPhone b/c of the lack of keyboard.
I think it will be cool for the game apps and browsing the web. I have a Zune now for mp3s (which I love) but having music on the same device as my phone will be great. Just worried about email capabilities. Is it like using a palm pilot where you plunk out letters? We aren't Apple users so I've never gotten caught up in the "hype," if that's what it is.
Anyway, I'm hoping you guys can sell me on this, b/c I don't trust DH to not just buy two phones regardless of what I say abt this.

also, how is AT&T cell service in NY? my parents live on the North Shore, and our VZW service isn't great, b/c the closest towers are literally in CT.

I have had an iphone for over a year now. For the first month I was ready to send it back. I just couldnt get used to it and it seemed so big (& Flat) compared to my old flip. My sis (who is a die hard Apple person) convinced me to stick it out and now I cant live without it.
It is so user friendly once you get the hang of everything. DH has a blackberry and he cant do half of what I can.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you. are you in NY? how is your service? i'm concerned abt getting reception when I go home to visit.
I am in western Suffolk. I have great reception and spend a few days in the city for work and have great service then....Only time I have problems is in very rural areas but DH has problems there too with his Verizon

AT&T voice and data service in Long Island is generally good.
But the AT&T data service in Manhattan is absolutely brutal. They have so many iphones in the city on the network, it's totally overloaded. Voice service seems fine.
They are supposed to update the data network down the road. But who knows when.

Stop by the Apple store and play around with it.. I now like the keyboard VS the old way... Now it's so much easier to type on.

I love my iPhone and you do get used to the touch screen keyboard. The service in the city is awful...there are so many people with iPhones that its so hard to get online at times. The phone is usually good.
