IRA or rolling over to my 401K, which is better?
I am clueless about this stuff. I have money in a 403b account from an old job, its been sitting in the account for a number of years now.
What is better, an IRA or to roll it over into my 401k at my present job? Or is there a better option?
And how do I go about doing this?

I would get the forms, and roll it over to a Traditional IRA at your bank. Do it soon to lock in a good rate. They are going down pretty fast.

We decided to roll it into an IRA. We invest it the same way we invest our 401(k). I don't think one is better, but I didn't want everything to be in my firm. I wanted some things separate.

i have rolled mine into a traditional ira. you should check if you can roll it into your 401k.

We are in the process of rolling DH's into a traditional IRA instead of his current 403b. I just figured that way we could diversify a little more and I don't really like his options at work. It's actually pretty easy to do. You can even go online to Trowe price or vanguard any major company and rollover online.
ETA: I don't think one is better than the other. I rolled an old 403b into my current one a few years ago.

I think you need to roll it into an IRA. I don't think you can roll a 403b into a 401k or viceversa.
I had a 403b and had to open an rollover IRA.
