Iron deficiency?
When does the doctor check for this? I haven't had blood work done in a long time, well aside from the 1 and 3 hr glucose test. TIA

Re: Iron deficiency?
When I had my one hour they also drew blood to measure my levels for iron...that's when he told me to start taking iron supplements.

me too - i had my 1 hour glucose on Monday and they gave me the failing results Tuesday and told me my iron was low too.. I haven't started taking the supplements yet though because i don't want to get constipated but i guess i should.

Re: Iron deficiency?
Thanks. So would it be safe to assume that since no one said anything about my iron levels at the 1 or 3 hour tests that its ok?

Colace is safe in pregnancy (stool softener without laxative). I'm not saying it works the same as if you were not taking iron, though. Also, I just started eating a high fiber cereal. I am supposed to to take 2 Slow Fe pills a day but I can only take one. I also notice that if I get very constipated, my heart symptoms get a bit worse (not that you will have that but it shows what our bodies go through).
