Is $1,000 for 15 private sessions w a personal trainer a fair/Good deal?

The trainer will come to my house and the sessions will be about 45 minutes long. I'm just trying to get an idea of what the going rates are and if this is really expensive or on par w personal training costs.

Thanks,
DF

Unless she is bringing some insane equipment, that seems pretty expensive. Though it is about what you would pay a gym for 60min sessions, usually in-home is cheaper because you don't have all the equipment, you basically have a coach. It also depends on where you live, it might be on par for the area.

I live in the city, but I still think that it's pretty expensive!! I needed some feedback.

That is pretty pricey - but some can charge up to 100 dollars an hour, so... I'm thinking you might not findsomeone less than 75 an hour though....

I paid $500 for 7 so that seems about right to me. And that was with me going to the gym not coming to me (I was in the city though).

I go to a personal training studio on long island and I pay $600 for 24 sessions that are 30 minutes each. So to me that price is very high.

Wow! That's awesome. I'm looking into different options, but it seems that 75-80 bucks a session (I'm guessing a session is about 45 minutes) is the going ate here in the city.

Do you think it's better for the trainer to come to you or for you to go to the trainer at the gym?

Makes me feel a lot better about my $399 for 12 sessions (I'm not in NY though).

If you're in NYC then that's not a bad rate, it's probably cheaper than going to a trainer at a gym. Just make sure the trainer has good credentials and has had success with clients with similar goals to yours.

Is it Personal Training Institute? They pay their trainers about 10 bucks an hour, so they can afford those low rates for customers....

Try looking up rates of PT's on craiglist for your area.
