Is 103 High for a 7 month old?
Please Help!! This is the first time he has been sick. He woke up screaming!! He threw up 2 times in 15 mins and he is soo congested I can hear it in his lungs.
I am just getting over pneumonia.
I am soo scared. DH is on his way home. But it will take him 40 mins.
Should I go to the ER?

I would call your ped and see what they say. Mine has a doctor on call when the office is closed and they always call back.

... or at least have a cool, wet rag on his head. Baby Tylenol also reduces fever.

Give him Mortin and a luke warm bath and call your doc. Some babies run high fevers.

When Ryan had coxsackie he ran a temp of about 103...
Motrin right away... call your Dr,,, and just get him to drink- ANYTHING!!!
Do you have pedialyte in the house? I would ask DH to pick some up on his way home- since DS has throw up

Well, the Dr. called back and said to try another round of Tylenol. She said I could go up in the dosage.
If that doesn't break the fever I should take him to Winthrop.
She seemed concerned when I said he had a glassy look in his eyes and was moaning. He finally fell back to sleep.
I think it's going to be a long night

Re: Is 103 High for a 7 month old?
babies do get high fevers. Did your ped say if you can give him motrin. Also if he cant keep down the tylenol, they make tylenol suppositories (I think they are called fever-all). And Ryan always gets that glassy eyed look in his eyes.
If you have to go to the ER I would go to Scheniders childrens hospital ER. Unless she said Winthrop for a specific reason.

Hang in there. 103 is a normal high fever for an infant. Glad you got the doctor. I'm sure Motrin or Tylenol will lower the fever. You can also try giving him Tylenol between sips of pedialyte.

103 is a normal fever for a little baby. If it gets to 105 I'd be concerned. Hope he feels better soon.

Re: Is 103 High for a 7 month old?
Thank you everyone. Last night was soo rough. He was up almost all night.
The dr. saw us first thing this morning.
He has an Ear Infection and Pink Eye Thank goodness she didn't hear anything in his chest. The runny nose she thinks is just from him teething. He is on an Antibiotic and Ointment for his eye.
The Tylenol has been working to keep the fever down. He seems so much better. I was so worried last night.
Thank you all again

Re: Is 103 High for a 7 month old?
Aw! Im glad hes doing better. So many pink eye cases and ear infections floating around! I am hearing about so many. 2 of my kids have ear infections (no pink eye though *knock wood*) My son has a chest infection and is getting neb treatments and steroids as well. Its so hard to tell if its in their chest or not. He is very prone to chest infections but Ive brought him to the doctor a number of times that it sounded like it was in the chest and it wasnt.
Glad the Tylenol is working for him too, that must be a huge relief.
