Is 14 months too old for baby sign language?
Is it silly to take a baby sign language class at this stage of the game?
Sasha can communicate what she wants by pointing and her own made-up words, but she doesn't really say anything other than mama or dada in terms of "real" words. Speaking of-- is that something to be concerned about? She is extremely verbal and vocal, but isn't saying real words yet.

It wouldn't hurt to take the class. My son picked up "more" & "all done" in one day. Also, I would not be concerned about it but ask about it at your next pediatrician visit. At least she is able to communicate and is somewhat vocal. It gets frustrating (for them & us!) when they try to communicate but can't.DS is a late talker, he just turned 2 and only started really picking up words within the last month or 2. He still has a long way to go, but he'll do it when he's ready. The dr. isn't concerned. I'm sure she is fine!

Re: Is 14 months too old for baby sign language?
I taught DS some signs early on (only a few) and there were some I taught him later, after one year, like "thank you" because he would not have understood the meaning behind it before that time. I definitely don't think it's too late for a class.
ETA: He says the words along with the signs and has a decent vocabulary so I don't think that's affected him at all
