Is 1.5 years long enough
To know your not happy with your job? Honestly would you stay at a job just for money? I work insane hours and we save a decent amount each month but I have very little free time, even on the weekends. I had a friend recently reach out to me about a position in her company but it would be a decrease in salary but the hours would be way better. We may still be able to save a little each month.
I'm torn because I haven't been happy for 1.5 years so not sure if anything will get better but at same time I don't want to lose out on another potential opportunity.

I am not one that leaves jobs after a short period of time but if you are not happy, it might not get better after that long. Is it a major amount of money that it will affect you life? If not then go for it :)

Yes - 1.5 years is long enough.
My first job - I barely made it 1.5 years. I hated it and the atmosphere was toxic. My second job, I was there 18.5 years (there was a time I had looked to leave but I fell into a better position in the company and the person who made the environment toxic was let go). My last job I made it 7 months - within 2 weeks I was actively searching for a new opportunity again. I've been at my current job almost a year and a half and am very happy there. There are times when we are very busy but it's a great atmosphere and I am happy there (well, I'm happy at home at my dining room table lol).

I left a job after a year. It was a long commute and everyone I worked with was negative. They all seemed to hate their chosen profession. It was a great decision.

Yes, 1.5 yrs is long enough to know. If you are really unhappy, I would think a pay cut (as long as you're not putting yourself in a bad financial situation) would be worth it. I've been there, done that

I think a year and a half is long enough. And then I think you need to evaluate what will make you and your family happier - the extra money or the extra free time.

Yes, 1 1/2 years is waaayyyyyy long enough. The days of staying years and years at jobs are long over. I've been there. It most likely won't get better. Quality of life is priceless, as long as you can afford the pay cut. As long as you won't be homeless, which from what you describe it doesn't seem like it would be that much of a drastic pay difference, go for it!!!!
