Is 2.04 good for oil?
Just bought a house and we are going to do a COD delivery.
Anyone know if that is good for COD? It's for 150 gallons.

For those people that pay for oil when they need it... who do you have your service contract with?
I found that if you get a service contract with someone... you have to buy your oil through them and pay a lot more.

Just bought my house, so we are doing COD delivery until spring. Then we'll probably get a service contract. Our furnace is in great condition, so we may try to go a year without a contract. We'll decide in the spring.
I feel bad for those who locked in during Katrina, boy those rates must be high!

Re: Is 2.04 good for oil?
When we moved in in May we contacted about 3 of the larger oil companies and they all said that our burner was so old that they couldn't guarantee us a contract (the burner's the original cast iron one from when the house was built) however, our engineer and all the oil companies said that it was in good enough condition to last a few more years. So we took decided against locking in at a high rate (the cheapest we were offered was 2.29). Knock on wood we haven't had any problems with the burner and so far we haven't paid over $2 per gallon for oil. We plan on getting a new burner this summer and I'm still not sure if we'll bother with a service contract.
