Is 3 really the new 2?
How many of you have or are planning to have more than 2 children?
It seems like most of my friends are going for the 3rd. We also are planning on a 3rd (but not anytime soon ). I even jokingly (because you'd have to have me committed ) asked DH would he be interested in a 4th...and he said, "Yeah, why not; my life is already over." This from a man who probably would have been happy with 1!

Re: Is 3 really the new 2?
It seems like things are going back to old school a little. More moms staying home, people having babies a little sooner than they had been and people having big families. I would like 3 or 4 but I have a feeling we may stop at 2 because of finances and logistics.

To your DH. Sounds like something mine would say. But I'll be happy if he agrees to 1 more (2 total). Not yet though ;)

I totally agree with this. But still, one of my best friends says that in her circle of friends at work, 2 kids is still very, very much the norm. I think it does have ALOT to do with finances and logistics...the parents are totally out-numbered with more than 2 kids, and you can't divide and conquer as easily (at least this is my husband's logic for why we shouldn't have more. )
In my circle of friends, in families where there are 3-4 kids, the Moms are always SAHM's. I think it just becomes too difficult to manage daycare/school/activities without having Mom at home, coordinating everything. Plus, it is a HUGE cost-savings to not have the 3 or 4 kids in full-time daycare.

Re: Is 3 really the new 2?
I'd love a 3rd, DH is set on being done. I have no idea if 3 is the new 2, but so many family members and close friends have at least 4.... I feel like the odd one out in that case!

Re: Is 3 really the new 2?
Now why can't my DH jump on that bandwagon of men wanting more. I know I am blessed with 2 beautiful children already but I really want a 3rd and he said no way (then again they are 3 months and 18 months). I plan on asking in 4 years

Re: Is 3 really the new 2?
Right now, we are one of VERY FEW of our friends with only 1. Of our friends with kids, most have 3 and one is pregnant with her 4th.

Re: Is 3 really the new 2?
I always said 3 and DH always said 2. Now after having a second boys, Dh wants to "try" for the girl but not sure I can handle a third colic baby....we shall see..

Re: Is 3 really the new 2?
Between dh and I we have 4. I have 3boys and he has the girl. We do not plan on having anymore. As I'm sure everyone feels the same, it gets to be very expensive between sports, holidays, vacations, etc. I think if we had another one my dh would go looney
