Is 35 weeks too far along to travel far?
I will be about 35 weeks at Christmas time and my brother and SIL have invited my parents and DH and me to go to NC.
My mom told my bro that she thought it would be too much for me that point. Is 35 weeks too far along for a car ride to NC? I don't think I should fly at that point, right?

I dont think I would risk going but if you decide to go you need to make sure that you stop every 1.5 to 2 hours to strech your legs.

I agree - NC is too far to go because if you go into labor, they will not have your records. And sitting for more than 2 hours is not good even if you get up here and there.

Thanks for the input. I thought it was too far but thought I would at least get opinons so I don't seem like I a blowing off their invitation.

I think it is too far for driving and if I am not mistaken, you can't fly either. I had Hayley at 35 weeks, I think it is better to stay close to home at that point in your pregnancy.

I am 35 weeks now, and sometimes I'm not comfortable on my 30 minute ride to work. I think it might be just too much at that point to travel that far.

My doctor said no flying after 32 weeks. I would think that may be too far for a car ride. But if you really want to go, ask your doctor and see what they say.

At 34 weeks I was uncomfortable enough that sitting through a Broadway show made me want strangle the person that gave me the tickets.
It's not too far to travel in terms of having the baby on the road - but sitting in a car, you'll definitely want to make stops.
eta. I think you're on the border line of needing a doctor's note to get on the plane.

I personally wouldnt Im 34 weeks right now and couldnt see myself in the car that long. plus most planes wont let you on past 6 or 7 months. my cousin had her tickets and a doc note saying it was fine and all at 6 months pregnant and the plane refused letting her on.

They are coming for Thanksgiving, but they want to be in their "new home" for Christmas. They do plan to come up in February after the baby is born.
I am really just inquiring so no one can ever say I didn't try to find out. Personally, I want to be home relaxing at Christmas time. I just don't want to make it seem like I am say no without investigating.

Re: Is 35 weeks too far along to travel far?
I went upstate to the IL's (5 hours away) when I was 37 weeks pregnant with Emma.
We stopped a lot, not really to stretch but I had to pee a lot . It was fine.
If you want to go I think it's fine.
