Is a stroller considered a carry on or can you have a stroller AND a carry on plus personal item?
DH and I are planning a little family vacation (probably to CA or FL).
I'm just curious if we can take both a stroller AND a carry on.
Do we have to check the stroller in or push it around the airport?

Im pretty sure that you can use it til you get to the gate and they take it from you as you board thus "checking it". They should have it waiting for you when you deplane.

That is what I thought too. I wish I paid more attention when traveling prior to having a baby!
Can we have a stroller AND a carry on suitcase?

yes b/c you gate check the stroller so it isn't counted towards your carry on amounts.

You can take your stroller all the way down the jet-way to the airplane, then you fold it up and they tag it and it is there for you when you arrive at your destination. It is not counted as part of your luggage so there are no restrictions, nor is a car seat (we brought both when going to disney).

Just when you get to the gate ask for a gate check tag - (and you might want a stroller bag to keep your stroller clean and rip free) and just fill out the tag. Then when you go to board you just roll or walk it down the gangway and right before you get on there will be wheelchairs and strollers you give it to them there and they will stow it beneath the plane. Then when you get off it will be waiting for you right on the gangway right as you walk thru the plane doors.

I was told by Jet Blue that you can have a stroller, car seat, and a diaper bag containing whatever you need to take care of the baby during the flight (ie. the liquid rule is not in effect for babies bc they may need formula or milk). However, he said that DS cannot have a carry on in addition to this....I am pretty sure that between DH and I we can have one diaper bag and one carry on.
