is a three hour shower too short?
i will be the first to admit most showers are BORING so three hours would be ideal in thats sense but is it really enough time to miningle, eat ,open gifts and have cake. My shower is not a surprise so its not like they have to wiat for me to get there. what do you think?

Re: is a thre ehour showre too short?
I think it depends on the amount of people you are having. I would prefer to have the fourth hour and know for sure that I will not be rushed. But if you know you are not having a huge amount of people, three hours should be fine. With all the showers I've ever planned, I only put a start time on, so people can just leave when it's over.

Re: is a three hour shower too short?
Remember when you go to other ppls showers it might seem long but when its your own party 3 hours FLIES by... I think about my 6 hour long wedding that felt like 1 hour... I think 3 hours is fine.. but 4 hours will not seem to long to you either.
ETA.. also opening gifts from that many ppl will take you about an hour..

Re: is a three hour shower too short?
If they arent going to wait for you to get there then I think 3 hrs is OK.
ETA maybe 3.5 hrs would be better? MIne wasnt a surprise and it was 3 hrs (11am-3pm). I got there are 11:15am and it went by very fast.

Re: is a three hour shower too short?
It took me 2 hrs. just to open present
My mom had mine at the house...so there was no set departure time... But Ill say the majority of everyone left after 4hrs.
And I didnt get to mingle with everyone....I barely ate and I dont think I even had cake...
It flew by..
(I had about 50-60 people)

Re: is a three hour shower too short?
I think for such a large party you may be a little rushed with a 3 hour shower. I know having the entire place to yourself is very appealing, but it may not work. Can you get maybe another 1/2 hour added on?

Re: is a three hour shower too short?
I think 3 hrs is too short. It took me over 3 hrs just to open gifts and I was going at a good speed. I had about 60 people there.
You don't want to feel rushed.

Re: is a three hour shower too short?
I needed the 4 hours. Mine was not a surprise, I got there at the same time the guests did. It took me about 2 hours to open gifts. I did have to take a quick break because I was so tired....then the next day I gave birth (I was only 35 weeks).

Re: is a three hour shower too short?
I think it depends on how many people are there. I had close to 40 people at mine and it was from 2-5PM on a Sunday. We stayed until 5:30 (although a lot of people left at 4:45 or 5PM) to get the gifts together and finish saying goodbye to everyone. IMO, I think if you have more than 30 people you might need part if not all of the extra hour.

Re: is a three hour shower too short?
I just had my shower and it was a suprise. It was booked for 3 hours but by the time I got there, there was 2 1/2 hours left. I walked around and said hello to everyone and then basically ate, took 4 bathroom breaks, lol, and opened presents the whole time. It wasn't bad, but at the end we kind of had to rush through the presents.

Re: is a three hour shower too short?
My SIL's was 3 1/2 hours and it was plenty - as a "hostess", I couldn't wait for it to end. She got wayyyyyy too many gifts and couldn't open them all (we didn't care if she opened ours there anyway). We had about 40 ppl.
I think 3 hours is fine. Especially if it's not a surprise.
