Is anyone a Lit coach?

This is my current position but over the last 3 years it morphed into something different and now the principal wants to go back to the job description and I am not sure how I feel about it.

What are your responsibilities as Literacy Coach?

This will be my first year as a primary lit coach. I'm not sure exactly what I will be doing

But I do know, I will have to run PD once a week, type up TP's for the teachers, attend a coach's group every Friday(outside of the school), model lessons for teachers, order books, distribute books.


I'm sure there will be a lot more.

I was originally brought in under the guise of a Lit coach, but really was a department chair. There was a failing English Department and students who were not passing Regent exams. In 3 years, I turned the department around, scores are UP, and now she wants me to work with other teachers in other departments with her literacy master plan.

To Be Honest, I am just not into it. I think it is time for a job change.....
