Is anyone else entralled by this Austrian incest case?
Now, it's disgusting and horrible, but I'm really intrigued by this case.
I mean, how do these things happen?
I know that there have been similar cases in the past, but most of the captors seem to be single men living on their own above the dungeons... there was an entire family living above this woman and children!
How does someone get away with this for 24 years?!?! first, he builds this dungeon, with a bathroom, an eating area, etc... and then he sneaks down there for 24 years?!?! And nobody notices?!?!?
I'm just boggled.
And he's so creepy looking! That pictures looks like he's almost pleased with himself!
It should be interesting to find out the new details as they unfold over the next several days.  and  for his daughter and her children.

i am sooooooooooo upset about it! and the worst part about it is that the guy only 15 yrs max sentence!!!ugggggghhhhhhhhh!!
my heart goes out to the kids and the woman that was held captive for 24 yrs!

Really? Only up to 15 years? He should be held for at least 24 - terrible!

It's also disturbing that the daughter had twins, and one of them died and instead of burying the poor child, they burned the baby in a fireplace!

I guess I'm enthralled in as far as reading the articles, but what I have read is unbelievably repulsive.
I don't think they've even charged the father yet - they can keep him for weeks for questioning before bringing charges.

I have to admit that I am pretty intrigued by this.
I don't understand how the wife didn't know this was going on right under her nose. What must she think?!
That man is sick and those poor people will never be normal after this. I have to say that I am kind of surprised that the kids aren't genetically messed up from the inbreeding.
The whole thing is SICK. It is like seeing roadkill... you just have to look.

This is how I am too. I guess I feel that if I keep reading, somehow the answer to how this went on for 24 years, undetected, will pop up. And, I mean, how did he not once slip up in 24 years so that somebody in that house noticed something?
It's just tragic. I just want to get inside this guy's head and find out why... before I leave him to be devoured by a pack of wolves.

One of the girls that was living in the basement (3 children were living upstairs w/ the grandfather/father, 3 were living in the dungeon with the mother) was very sick, so the daughter/mother begged to have her brought to the hospital. She did, the doctors started investigating the mother's whereabout. Crazy guy let the daughter/mother out to see her daughter saying she decided to come home after 24 years. Police/doctor's started questioning her. She eventually told the police what happened, after they promised she would never have to see her father again.
Then he somehow admitted to the crime.

I am...I still can't believe that the wife did not know. And I still am questioning who delivered all these children for the woman. Did this guy go down there and deliver all his 6 kids and the wife did not hear anyone screams/moans while the woman was giving birth.
Such a freaken horror show.

The word entralled didn't feel right to me - so I checked the dictionary, the first definition was surprising & ironic considering the circumstances.
Definitions of enthralled on the Web:
bond: held in slavery; "born of enslaved parents"
beguiled: filled with wonder and delight

I'm shocked & disgusted, but yes, absolutely astonished that something like that could happen. I hope that man gets thrown in the general jail population with papers plastered all around & the guards looking the other way. IMO, he "killed" his little girl & should be given the same courtesy.
