I thought it was just our HD box but there was a delay at my MILs this weekend too. Is this common with High def on with Cablevision?

Yes I had the same problem. Channel surfing was horrible.

I am finding delays as well - it's annoying because I end up going too far in the guide because I hit the button again when it doesn't move!

I've always had this problem. I thought it was just standard with cablevision.

Hmm, I haven't been having any problems or delays. I sometimes have delays waiting for the channel guide to come up, but don't have problems with changing channels.

I have had the same issue as well. I never had a problem in the past, then it started about 2 weeks ago.

I thought it was me and I was going to exchange the box.

I have the same issue on only one of my boxes. We have two boxes. Both are HD. One has a DVR & one does not. The box without the DVR takes forever to scroll the channel line-up. It drives me crazy.

Re: Is anyone else experiencing long delays with changing channels on their HD Opt. Box?

ALWAYS !! DH called them about the non-dvr box one day and they told him that the TV we had in the bedroom was too new & it wasn't allowing the signal to go from the remote to the cable box as fast as normal Chat Icon

Then I called a week or so later about the DVR box in the livingroom being realllyyyyyyyy slow and also it skipping/jumping when we watch. First they told me that the memory in the DVR was too full - when I told them I only had 23% full they then asked me about the TV - and this person told me that the TV in the livingroom was too OLD and couldn't handle the power of the signal that cablevision uses that's why there is a lag and it jumps/skips Chat Icon Chat Icon

so according to them I have 2 tv's that aren't compatible with their boxes - but it's me not them right ???? Chat Icon

I always found Cablevision's set top boxes to be pieces of crap.

So much happier with FIOS.

I had that problem as well. It started up suddenly too.

One of the many reasons we switched to FIOS!

YES Chat Icon

It started a few weeks ago, then magically got better.

Then it started back up again last week and it takes forever to search through the channels.

And i LOVE that when i want to scroll up or down, I can only press the botton once and it will just randomly scroll through ALL of the channels for meChat Icon
