Is anyone elses 9 month old not crawling?

I know I post this a lot but now I am getting worried.

Should I call the dr?

He gets up on all fours and then decides he rather drag himself all over the place.

My nephew is almost exactly the same age as Andrew (Andrew was born the day before him) and he wants nothing to do with crawling or even going on all fours. If my sister puts him on the floor all he does is kick his feet and laugh. He can stand really good but not on his own yet.

Every child grows at their own pace so I would not worry.

I don't know the milestones - but I do know a few people on here posted that their DC skipped crawling and went straight to walking.

He loves to stand!! And he can on his own for a few seconds. He thinks it is so funny to stand up.

Matthew is 9 months old and does not crawl or stand. He'll crawl, well actually creep all over the bed and couch but if I put him on the floor all he does is get on his hands and knees but won't move.

I wouldn't worry.... Lauren doesn't crawl on all 4's. She army crawls all over and she is so fast, I doubt she will even go on all 4's because she can get where she needs to get, and quickly I might add! She also doesn't really pull herself up much. I have a feeling Lauren will be walking sooner than my son did, but for now I am content with her progress. I am going to bring it up at her pedi visit tomorrow though. She will be 10 months.

My DD started crawling very late at 10.5 months.. she was rolling around the room to get to things she wanted and then one day finally crawled.

I think every child is different and each attains milestones at their own pace. I would bring it up with the ped at the next visit but I wouldn't worry too much, as long as he is mobile in some way, I think that is fine...

I wouldn't worry some babies don't even crawl. My ped told us that its not really considered a signal of a developmental red flag if they don't crawl anymore. He says that since the back to sleep campaign started babies don't spend that much time on their belly's anymore and don't have much time to practice. Lots go straight to standing/walking without crawling and it's perfectly okay.

DD was walking around assisted and standing way before she started crawling. She just started crawling about two weeks ago tops, she's 10 months old now.

Jared didn't even crawl. He went from standing to walking...after he walked, then he crawled...

My niece never crawled. She went straight to walking at 9 months.

I've got a 10-month old who doesn't crawl. He'll get up on all fours and rock but no crawling...he likes to roll! I just took him to the doctor today, she didn't seem concerned at all.

DD is almost 9 months old and doesn't crawl on all fours yet. She will get up on her knees for a few seconds and then drop back down. She creeps along by pulling with her arms and pushing with her feet. Her Ped called it the "soldier". She likes to stand and pull herself up but I have to put her in the right position first. I don't think you should worry about Andrew.

Tons of babies never crawl. Infact, Ava's the first baby in our family to crawl. I did't crawl, my sister didn't, my cousins didn't. Crawling is not something they all do

DD crawled 3 days shy of 9 months... and hasn't stopped since!

When you say he'd rather drag himself all over the place, do you mean he's doing a military crawl? If he is, I'd count that as crawling! But even if he's not I wouldn't worry anyway. As long as he can sit and roll over, I'm sure his motor development is fine. Brendan started military crawling around 8 months and didn't start crawling on all fours until 11 months. Just makes it harder to keep up with them!

eta: Even though Brendan can crawl he can't stand on his own yet like Andrew! Go Andrew!

Madeline didn't crawl until almost 11 months. I was concerned, but with in two days she went from rocking back and forth to crawling. My pedi was never concerned, "crawling's not a milestone "blah blah blah. I know you worry about everything as a mother, but give him some time.

Ava didn't crawl until a few weeks after her 1st Birthday. I was never worried. She is 2 1/2 now, runs around non-stop and even took dancing lessons.

Don't stress, it will happen...and then like me, you will long for the days when he/she sat still in one place!!!!!!

Ellie has been military crawling for a while and now devotes all her time to cruising so I doubt that she'll ever do an up on all fours off her tummy crawl. From here I think she'll just eventually let go and walk.

Hayden doesn't crawl, he likes sitting and playing. If he wants to move he rolls around to get what he wants. My DH and I never crawled either.

Connor never did. He got up and walked at 10 months instead.
