Is anyone elses DC a TERROR at the doctors office?

I still get knots in my stomach when i think about the last well visit. My DS went into hysteria as soon as we went into the room. The nurse couldn't even meaure or weigh him. I had to go on the scale with him to get him weighed. The whole scene was really disastourous and quite honestly the doctor wasn't even able to really examine him properly since he refused to stay still.
DS just turned 18 months and its supposed to go for another well visit, but i really dread taking him...does this ever get better?

My son was a nightmare up until about a month or so ago (27 months) It is slowly getting better. I know how you feel - it was always torture.

OMG yes! He is fine in the waiting room but as soon as we go into the room he takes one look at the nurse and starts screaming

He is also freakishly strong and it takes both me and DH to hold him down just so they can take his temp! I have no idea what he is so afraid of but maybe when he is 10 this will stop

DS is exactly the same way! First the waiting room is awful enough because I cringe while he touches everything. He refuses to stay still. Then once he's in the actual room, he doesn't want to stay in it and I have to chase him down the halls! Last time, the nurse came in, she was new and couldn't get his weight either! They had to call another one in to do it! Then he was so upset by that point, that it could only get worse once the dr. came in the room. It's awful. I feel your pain. My plan is to never, ever schedules well visits unless DH can go with me. Why I should I be the only one to suffer? Now, sick visits....I guess I don't usually have a choice!

DS absolutely FLIPS out when we walk through door (he's 25 mos). I dread it and its really more than a one person job.
