Is anyone having a Jack & Jill shower? HELP!
Ok, here's the deal: I'm having two showers--one here in NC, and one in NY, since we still have lots of family and friends on LI.
Most of my good friends back home on LI are guys, and they REALLY wanted to come to the shower. So we decided to make it a Jack & Jill.
Now I'm being told that this means I need to invite ALL of the guests' husbands, boyfriends, etc. etc. I was really only going to invite my group of about 6 guy friends, and then just invite my girlfriends and female family members--but my sister thought that would be rude.
Can someone help me out? Would men really be upset about NOT being invited to a shower?  I mean, the only reason we're having ANY guys is because these are my best friends

i wanted a jack and jill shower too, but i wanted it so DH could celebrate too.
we invited all the couples we wanted, but found that except in the case of our friends, the "older" guys (like my mom's friend's husbands) didn't come, so it all worked out.
if i were you i would invite who YOU want. there is nothing in the "rule book" that says you have to invite anyone except who you want to.

I'm not having a "Jack and Jill" shower, but some guys will be coming to hang out, eat and drink by the bar.

here's my theory on this:
my shower, I invite whom I want!
I guess I'm having a jack and jill shower... all the invitees are girls, but grandpa is showing up to baby-sit several kids, and DH will hang-out with his dad throughout the shower.... we also invited my uncle, in case my aunt needs him to drive her over...
they're your friends... they should be invited! No need to label the party jack and jill and then force you to double the headcount

In my experience, No, the men will not be insulted about not being invited
However, my husband being Hispanic, his family always has jack & jill showers
everything is a whole family event
