Is anyone in Real Estate or know someone?
Is anyone in Real Estate or know someone in Real Estate that can give me advice? DH says we won’t be ready to start looking for a house for a year and a half. He swears that the market will continue to go down and won’t be going up anytime soon. I’ve had multiple people tell me that they will start to rise within the next year. I don’t want to get screwed! Any help on this would be much appreciated!

I talked to my real estate agent about this and he thinks that market won't level out until atleast 2010 with prices not begining to rise again until 2011.

It depends on the area. Manhattan real estate went up in the first quarter.

True. Talk to a RE agent in the area where you want to buy, the market is very localized right now.
