Is anyone thinking of changing the routine??
Trying something different? I know I probably shouldn't but I think for this month DH and I are just going to BD every other day.
I think maybe I need a break.....

I was thinking I needed a break too. I will go through the rest of my testing and then see how I feel - but right now I'm burned out.

Re: Is anyone thinking of changing the routine??
Take a break if you need it! I was forced to take one last month and I was not happy about it. After a week of no temps and no opk's, I was REALLY glad that it happened. This month I feel a bit more refreshed!

Re: Is anyone thinking of changing the routine??
I can only imagine that after many months of TTC, the need to take a break or just change the routine is actually appealling. For now, the only thing I plan to change for next month is to chart actively and taking my temps.. I didn't do so this time and I am certain that is why I am so confused now!
But BDing every other day is certainly not a bad idea , IMO
Even though we have only been officially 'trying' (by using OPKs, etc) since Feb/March (when I was given the all clear by my doctor after my endo surgery), before then I was off BC and unoffically trying since July 04 ... so I do feel like I've been trying a lot longer than it actually is.
While it is so hard some days, the main reason I don't want to take a break right now is because I am already 35 . I feel like time is of the essence - I worry that with every month that I do not try and every month that I am not PG, I will face more problems down the road.. its a silly thing, I know, but I really wanted to be PG before I turned 36
If by July (our 1st anniversary) I haven't had any success, I am already planning to go back at my RE for further testing..

Re: Is anyone thinking of changing the routine??
I am. I'm stopping charting and OPKs this month.
I'm also going to lift my ban on drinking so I can act normal again. Not that I need to drink to be normal, but every time I pass up a glass of wine I'm reminded of our situation.
So I'm going to act like a normal person who BD every other day!!

Re: Is anyone thinking of changing the routine??
Yes, I definitely needed a change of routine!
DH and I tried for 6 months or so the old fashioned way, just using OPKs. Then I found out I had an imbalance of prolactin, so got on medication for that and tried another 3 months. Finally saw an RE, got all the testing done for me and DH-- nothing wrong with either of us! I did one cycle of Clomid+intercourse, then another of Clomid+IUI. The second round of Clomid caused corpus luteum cysts in my ovaries... one swelled to the size of an orange. I missed a few days of work over this!
The RE suggested I take a break this month to let my ovaries get back to normal. Of course I was distraught when I heard this, but now I'm actually grateful for it. I've enjoyed wine a few times, I've had sex for fun (what a novel idea!!!) and it's been great having no emotional rollercoaster these few weeks.
Not even sure if I want to go straight to injectibles next month and start the whole rollercoaster again (now that Clomid is not an option). I might take another month or two to relax....

Re: Is anyone thinking of changing the routine??
That's one good thing about IUI-- it takes the pressure off to have "sex with a purpose" :)

Re: Is anyone thinking of changing the routine??
I found out that a vacation - even if it is just a weekend - turns my DH into a horndog. So, no more vacations until I can TTC again!!
Sex for fun IS great!! And what a concept!!

Re: Is anyone thinking of changing the routine??
As some of you already know... Ill be taking a break. I'd sooo love to have a child, and was supposed to give birth in Aug '05, but things didn't go according to my plans because my cards have been redealt.
Now, I plan on taking it easy, and enjoying the summer, without worrying that I have to be careful with what I drink/eat.
