is colace safe to take or do i need to call the doc?
sorry for the TMI but i just can't take anymore of the 2 hour potty productions and i've been skipping my iron

I asked both my doctors and the nurses and they said it is safe. It is only a stool softener, not a laxative. Laxatives are harsher and I don't think we can take those.

You might want to check on how much you can take...my doc said I can take up to 100mg of it, but that some prenatals already have a stool softener in it and if that is the case, you may need less mg of colace.

My dr. said colace is safe, 1 to 3x per day as needed.

I got the OK from 2 separate Dr's.
I take Peri-Colace as opposed to Colace which has a laxative as well as a softener.
I also bought the CVS brand as is was like #12.00 for 150 pills as opposed to $20 something for like 50. The ingredients are exactly the same.

When I was in the hospital..pregnant with the twins..they used to give me colace along with my daily vitamin.

Completely safe, I think my doc said up to 200-mg. a day was safe. Sometimes it works for me, other times it doesn't. Good luck and feel better!

safe...
when i was admitted to the hospital at 32 weeks they gave it to me daily with my prenatal as well...
then they told me to continue taking it at home...
