I realize she won't be able to do the "picking" but just the idea of it..I love. What do you think?

How old is she?

DD is 3 mos. and we will be taking her pumpkin picking. It's at least a good photo opportunity. Chat Icon

My girlfriend took her son when he was only about 4 weeks old...we're taking our DD - she'll be about 7-8 weeks....

Obviously they don't "pick" the pumpkins, but they look cute dressed in a cute outfit posed next to the pumpkins...

It's cute when they're that little. David was 5 months in this photo. Chat Icon

I would take her. You can hold her by the pumpkins.

Later when get home, scoop out the pumpkin, line the inside with a a plastic shopping bag in it & stick the baby in it for photos.Chat Icon

I think it depends on how good your baby is and the weather and how long you go for. My baby just turned 2 months and we are skipping our yearly apple picking trip. Chat Icon He is pretty much colic and no way he'd last thru all the driving to go there and then a full day outside. Plus once we hit mid-October when we usually go - it gets real cold. I have pictures of all of us with our red noses from years past. So no way he can go. It is always so much fun and my 2.5 yr old loved it last year so I feel bad but just won't work with my 2 mo old.

We are taking him locally for pumpkins at white post farm this weekend.

I don't think babies are ever too young for lots of experiences. Even though they can't participate, they are observing and taking everything in.

I am taking DS next weekend--he is 7 weeks also...I dont think they are too young for any of it...it is a great photo-op and in my opinion, they need to get out and be in the fresh air. I wouldn't worry about the dirt etc, since they aren't walking around--you will be fine! HAVE FUN!!!!Chat Icon
