Is getting a divorce in the Dominican Republic legal?
Anyone know any details about this? Any lawyers care to chime in  Thanks!

Yes it is -- its one of the places that grants very fast divorces, hence why many Americans run there to get one.
I don't know the details of how you go about it -- but you can be divorced there.
I remember that was a big deal with Marc Anthony -- he had a quickie divorce there and then immediately married Jennifer Lopez after that. I've also had some clients that got divorced there and brought me the papers. Its legal.

I think is legal. I remember Marc anthony got divorce there bc it was faster and easier so he can marry JLo. I found this info in the DR embassy website

Crazy that you can divorce in another country--but great for those that want it done quickly!

it is leagal and my sister's husband divorced her without her even knowing! they did get married there. don't know if that makes a difference.
