Is going to Disney during the holiday week a really bad idea?
We decided not to go to Mexico but are exploring other winter vacation options. I get the week of Christmas off.
Is Disney a complete zoo during Christmas week?

yes, i went once and will never go again that week. it's nice to see it decorated for christmas, but it is absolutely PACKED. I think it is the busiest time of year.

The week between Christmas and New Year's Day is one of the busiest times of year. That being said, it's beautiful to see everything decorated for the holidays!

We decided to go in early December instead.
i believe all the holiday decorations will be up and the crowds aren't too crazy.

we always go the 2nd week in Dec.. and again this year.. its so nice to see all the holiday decorations when its not busy!!

agree with ppers plus you prob wont be able to get any dinner reservations bec you can and should book them 180 day before! crazy I know! I did this for my vacation on the 180 exactly and already didn't have some of my times!

We thought about that week as well and read it is a mob scene...and decided to do the 2nd week in December as well. : ) How funny!

YES!!! Christmas and New Years are the busiest times of the year - it isn't unusual for the parks to CLOSE in the mornings b/c they are full to capacity. I don't think as much as I love WDW that I would ever go then unless there was no choice. Before Christmas and after new years is pretty quiet for the most part.
The parks will be wall to wall people with very long waits.

We went down the second week of January and the park was pretty empty -it was awesome!
