Is it bad
to tickle a baby (8 weeks old)? It's feet, sides, knees ect.

I don't think so as long as he/she is enjoying it. It's important to make sure the child isn't laughing so much that he/she isn't breathing. I was tickled so long by an uncle when I was 3 years old that I couldn't breath. After that, my dad "outlawed" tickling in my family. However, I think its okay if your observant and the child is enjoying it. Sometimes we laugh when tickled as a response when we don't like it though.

OK, just asking because I was told that it could cause retardation or something serious. Or is that an old wives tale??

I remember when my son was a newborn I was rubbing the bottom of his feet. My Aunt went nuts & told me I should never do that. Some old wives tale. I just laughed at her. It's crazy
