Is it bad if I don't consume all my points?

I get 29 points.

I never even get close to using that many in a day.

I am losing at an awesome rate. In 4.5 weeks (I just started WW on Feb.4th), I have lost 16 lbs.

Is it too much too soon?

I never feel hungry. I eat small portions of things I like (aka- PASTA). Chat Icon

I don't use my extra points...EVER.

Am I sabotaging myself?

Re: Is it bad if I don't consume all my points?

I worry about this for a few reasons:

-Are you getting in all your good health guidelines? Are you eating enough fruits, veggies, whole grains, healthy oils etc? Are you getting enough protein? One of the reasons you get 29 points is because it is a number that makes sure you get enough calories for the day. You want to make sure your body has enough nutrients.

-Losing too fast isn't necessarily bad, however if you lose to much weight, too quickly you're more likely to gain it back. It's happened to me in the past. 4 pounds a week is alot (unless you are significantly overweight- then generally those people will lose much more at the beginning few weeks). Reccomended healthy weight loss is 2lbs a week.

Overall, I don't think its necessarily bad for you, but I would worry about keeping the weight off in the long run. The ultimate goal of WW is to become a lifetime member and maintain your goal weight. In that instance you'd be eating 35 points a day...if you continue at less than 29 you'd still lose weight which could bring you into an unhealthy weight range. Additionally, your body just wont get used to eating the normal amount of calories.

I would just take those into consideration. Congratulations on your weight loss!

How far off are you? Are you getting the proper nutrition?

If you are eating only 25 points, then it's fine.

At my last meeting, a lady from Corporate subbed for the meeting leader and told us all that you don't have to hit your daily target, so I would think that as long as you're not starving yourself and this is something you can maintain, then I would say good for you!
