Is it bad to occassionally give DC a bottle of formula after all on milk?
DD is 13.5 months and has been on all milk for a few weeks. However, as she is #2 - we are out and about ALOT and sometimes I am not able to give her milk when it is time for her milk - she is not a good eater so, it is really important to keep her on her eating schedule. So, maybe 1X per week (sometimes 2) I will give her a bottle of formula (the similac travel bottles) when we are out and I don't have milk. Is this ok?

it's fine but why not just give her milk? I don't get why you wouldn't just give her milk?

If I don't have milk to give her - since milk has to be refrigerated I can't just carry it around with me the way I can with the travel formula bottles.

I carry a small cooler (the kind that fits 2 baby bottles) and put his sippy of milk in there with an ice pack or two.
Very easy and this way I have his milk ready when we're out.

I think its fine in addition to everything else she's eating. Its like pedialite with protein essentially. I'm considering doing the same thing, since we are outdoors a lot.

Yeah, I've thought of this but, sometimes we are really out all day and I'm paranoid of the milk turning!
With my first it was so easy b/c I could time his milk around being at home (first thing in morning and before bed) but, my DD won't drink milk first thing in the morning - she has to eat a meal first and, at night will only drink about 2-3 ounces! UGH!

They make toddler formula so you could use that instead of milk if you need to.
Also, horizon sells organic milk in a box container. I used to keep the boxes with me in my bag and just empty them into a bottle when needed. They do not need refrigeration before opening.

This is what I do. I wouldn't continue the formula, it may cause some tummy discomfort.

why? I don't understand why formula would do that?

Well formula has higher levels of iron in it than milk, for example. Too much iron can cause stomach issues/constipation.
